Took Han to the vet today to talk about being a heart worm treatment candidate. His test came back a schedule I (weak positive - woo!) and the second test came back negative for juvenile worms! He starts a two week round of antibiotics today, and then on the January 23rd he receives his two injections of Immiticide to kill off the adult females. I have to admit that I’m very nervous since the injections go directly into his lumbar vertebrae, and then we have to keep him absolutely calm and no excitation level for a whole month. He could have a blood clot in any capillary in his body if he becomes too excited - so needless to say, it’s going to be a tough month. I’m just glad that he may be on his way to be a fully healthy pup!
